Other than golf and tennis, the decline in youth participation in most sports is alarming. What are they doing with their leisure time? Sitting in front of a video monitor with a game controller in their hands? Hello, obesity epidemic.

On a macabre note, you gotta hand it to the older folks for increasing #s! I mean, the water has to be draining almost as fast as filling😬 So any increase is significant imo. Thanks as always for your writing.

Did you notice that the real two growth sports are individual? Tennis and Golf you can not hide, a lot like wrestling but with wrestling you have to be a certain weight to excel. Kids today with the travel clubs are not as interested in doing the year round travel and can play either tennis and golf at their leisure. As for the growth of women's golf I see that waning as post covid continues. It is simply too difficult and time consuming for 18 holes, while the 9 hole players seem to enjoy more of the comradery then the actual competition.
